Iran to Join Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce

International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Ex. Secretary‌ General Jean Guy Carrier and China Chamber of international commerce Vice Chairman Jianzhong Lu accompanied with a group of investors met with Mohammad Mehdi Behkish ICC Iran secretary general and Mohsen Jalalpour ICC Iran chairman on 6 September 2015 in Tehran to discuss plans to launch Silk Road Chamber and to evaluate Iranian environment for investment.

 

According to the report of ICC Iran public relations, Mohsen Jalalpour the president of Iran chamber of commerce pointed out the main role of silk road in international trade and its role relating member countries and said Iran is ready to join and become active participants in the Silk Road chamber of international Commerce.

 

“Iran has an important role in international trade in the Middle East and its membership in the Silk Road chamber has a positive role in promoting global trade and strengthening relation between countries” said Mr Carrier.

 

The Ex Secretary General of ICC Paris continued: Mr LU is supposed to be the chair of Silk Road Chamber of international commerce.

 

Referring to plan to launch this chamber, Behkish stated that Silk Road Chamber of commerce is considering cooperation and very constructive relations between 65 countries and not only shows different culture but also promotes global trade and investment. He also stressed that it is therefore essential that Iran is involved in this process.

 

 

The Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (SRCIC) is to launch to enhance greater prosperity and peace in the Silk Road region, encompassing 65 countries, and in turn stimulate the global economy.

 

As a business organization, the SRCIC brings together members from all industry sectors and regions of the world. Its primary aims are:

  • Contributing to the harmonious growth and freedom of international commerce.
