ICC Iran Banking commission will organize on Tuesday & Wednesday 19, 20 July 2016 a seminar under the topic of “Transferable Letter of Credit”.
A Transferable Credit is generally used when the beneficiary of a Documentary Credit is not the actual supplier of the goods, but an intermediary (middleman or agent). A Transferable Credit is a regular Documentary Credit with an additional term that allows a named bank to transfer an amount of the Import Documentary Credit to one or more of the actual suppliers or any transferee requested by the beneficiary and agreed to by the bank. Transferable documentary credit is an opportunity to intermediate large trade transactions without having to use one's own funds (no need for credit decision).
