The World Chambers Federation (WCF) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has announced the nomination of 48 chamber leaders from around the world, standing to fill 20 seats on the WCF General Council.
Pedram Soltani, vice president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), has announced candidacy for the World Chambers Federation (WCF) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
ICC WCF chamber members from more than 130 countries will vote for their 20 preferred representatives, using the online election platform Electionz from 1 to 30 November 2016.
Forty seven Candidates will stand for election in November 2016 to serve for a three-year period from 2017-2019.
WCF new General Council will be announced early in December, with returning and new council members beginning their mandate on 1 January 2017. The first meeting is scheduled for 1 March.
The World Chambers Federation (WCF) is composed of the WCF Chairmanship, the WCF Executive Committee and 20 members of the WCF General Council. The WCF General Council is the backbone of the global chamber community, uniting the network of local, regional, national, and bilateral chambers.
Pedram Soltani is a renowned Iranian businessman, known for his courageous views and efforts for modernization of Iranian business communities. In 2011 he was elected as the vice president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, the youngest who has ever got to this position in the country. In 2015 he was re-elected as first vice president of ICCIMA.
Soltani is Chairman of Persol Corporation, an Iranian conglomerate among top 400 Iranian companies based on IMI evaluation, active in Energy, Oil and Gas, Mining, transportation, Agroindustry, Wood and Paper, etc.
