3456789 ICC Guidance Note on Possible Measures Aimed at Mitigating the Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic



To promote the global development of the digital economy  and continued growth of its underlying information and communication technologies  (ICTs) and related business models‌, through private sector policy leadership‌, regulatory advocacy and the promotion of best practice‌.


The Iranian National Committee of ICC with the goal of providing facilities to E-Business, IT and Telecoms companies to be active and effective in the international business via cyber space (Internet), has founded the commission to plan the future activities established the thinking group with support of business leader and experts.The outcome of thinking group based on objectives of ICC's commission on Digital Economy in Paris and recognition of the Iranian E-Business, IT and Telecoms companies' needs, is the following manifesto:


"We are uncovering better ways to participate on E-Business, Information technology and Telecommunications international market, through the ICC's  Digital  Economy commission and the help of the members who are users and providers of information technology and electronic services across the country."


The Digital Economy Commission of Iranian National Committee of International Chamber of Commerce as a member of ICC since 1963 is the ideal platform for E- Business, IT and telecoms leaders, expert and providers to share opinions. Discussion on events and E-business regulation is in the agenda, with members who are user and providers of information Technology and electronic services, in regular periodic meetings.


The main concern of Digital Economy commission is to the expansion of cross-border trade. Planed seminar and speech regarding to the latest development on infrastructure and tools that support online trade and financial transaction is scheduled during a year.


Objectives of the Commission, based on global concerns of ICC, are summarized as follow:


  • Support developers and user of Information Technology in E-business, though creation, adaption and broadcasting of policies, standards of practice and guidelines that make it possible and encourage competition.
  • Activate the task-forces on information network security and private virtual network, data protection and trade related matters.
  • Provide an international business interface to update members on all technological events at intergovernmental and technical organization including: World Trade Organization (WTO), World Bank, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), G8/G20, International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), and the European Parliament and Commission of the European Union (EU).
  • Introduce and broadcast the ICC’s BASIS initiatives activities to strengthen multi-stakeholder dialogue and contribute business expertise on internet governance and ICTs for development.
