1234567 ICC Guidance Note on Possible Measures Aimed at Mitigating the Effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic



  • Iran Banking Commission regularly sets monthly meetings with the international managers of banks (as representative of Government and private banks) and Bank Markazi Jomhouri Islami Iran (BMJII, The Central Bank of Iran) directors. Topics of discussions are international developments in ICC consisting of; new rules to be introduced, revised or drafted, opinions of ICC regarding banking disputes referred to ICC. The rest of time is usually assigned to national Iran banking system concerns.


  • Iran Banking Commission participates in twice yearly ICC banking commission. The Iranian delegation consists of Secretary of the Commission and representatives of BMJII and Commercial banks. As a result of active participation, the secretary of Iran Banking commission was first appointed in Bank Guarantees Task Force. When ICC approved to revise the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees, she was chosen as one of the members of Drafting Group, which makes an International rule for the world of Guarantees.


  • Arrangement of seminars and training courses to introduce new international rules is a constant and successful activity of Iran Banking Commission.


In the spring meeting of ICC held in Dubai (March 2009), representatives of BMJII, banking system officials and the secretary of Banking Commission took part. This session was mainly assigned to article discussion of a revised draft of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees. In that, under the chairmanship of Dr. George Affaki, the Iranian banking commission secretary along with five other members of the drafting group introduced the new rules and discussed them with over 250 participants in the meeting.




1-To promote ICC-Iran banking commission’s work in ICC Banking Commission annual meeting in Johannesburg.


2-Address regulatory challenges facing trade finance in the various expert forums of the Banking Commission and ensure appropriate action by the regulatory agencies in Iran.


3-Pursue the use of Anti-Corruption & Corporate Governance management system, and Enforcement of Cross Border Trade Facilitation System in collaboration with other ICC-Iran Commissions.
