The Alliance’s forward momentum is continuing with the signing of two major formal partnerships and the launch of several new streamlined digital systems, marking significant progress in our many ongoing initiatives.
Reflecting the diversity of trade facilitation, the Alliance has signed an agreement with UNICEF to support the delivery of critical supplies to vulnerable communities and with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to continue collaborating on implementing electronic phytosanitary certificates through the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) ePhyto Solution.
The Alliance and the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), operating under the aegis of the Food and Agriculture Organizations of the United Nations (FAO), have formalised a relationship aimed at transforming the cumbersome, paper-based phytosanitary certification procedures required for international trade in plant and plant products.
The Alliance is supporting several developing and least developed countries (LDCs) in implementing the IPPC ePhyto Solution, replacing manual documentation with electronic phytosanitary certificates, or ePhytos, capable of exchange with a growing number of countries worldwide through the IPPC ePhyto Hub.
